Released in April 2025, the 1160XL is the refined evolution of Seawind’s most iconic model. Fully ISO Category A certified, it introduces more than 30 design upgrades including a carbon front beam and a reconfigured hull shape co-designed with Stuart Bloomfield.
Increased beam and raised freeboard improve stability and load-carrying capacity. Wider side decks, 800 mm lifelines and a modern sail plan combine family confidence with the manoeuvrability and predictable performance for which the model is known.
The practical tri-fold door transforms the yacht from secure offshore cruiser to open-air pavilion in seconds. Larger upright windows, wider cabin doors and level flooring create a bright, spacious interior informed by decades of owner feedback.

Seawind was founded in Australia by Richard Ward in 1982 with a simple ambition: build catamarans that sailors actually want to cruise on. Four decades later the yard builds performance cruising catamarans that are Category A certified for unlimited offshore passages, combining protected twin helms, single-level living and the signature tri-fold saloon door.
