Motor yacht anchored off a pink sand beach in the Komodo archipelago, Indonesia

Indonesia

Indonesia — Komodo & Raja Ampat

The most biodiverse water on earth, and the region's defining charter itinerary.

The cruising ground

Komodo and Raja Ampat are the reason many owners bring a yacht to Asia. Reefs and manta aggregations, volcanic islands, and long stretches of coastline where a yacht is the only sensible way to travel. Cruising here rewards planning: permits, provisioning and fuel all need to be arranged well in advance.

Highlights

Komodo National Park

Dragons ashore, manta rays at Karang Makassar and pink sand at Padar.

Raja Ampat

Coral diversity found nowhere else, with anchorages among the Wayag karst.

Flores & the Banda Sea

Volcanoes, spice islands and passages for owners with time and range.

Bali

A practical arrival and departure point with provisioning and guest logistics.

Practical notes

  • Foreign-flagged yachts require a cruising permit and clearance; lead times are measured in weeks, not days.
  • Charter of a foreign-flagged yacht in Indonesian waters is restricted — structure the arrangement carefully.
  • Fuel and technical support are limited east of Bali; plan range and spares conservatively.

Every itinerary is shaped around your yacht, your guests and the conditions of the week you travel. This one is a starting point, not a fixed programme.
